Ottawa Custody/Access Lawyer
Ottawa Custody Lawyer Vinayak Ethiraju joined Delaney’s Law Firm as an associate lawyer after completing his articles with the firm. Vinayak received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Ottawa. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Legal Studies from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology prior to attending law school.
Vinayak’s practice focuses primarily on family law cases, including custody/access disputes, child support, spousal support, property division, and child protection work. Vinayak devoted a significant amount of his time in law school to the study and practice of out of court dispute resolution. Vinayak was on the winning University of Ottawa team competing in the provincial Walsh Family Law Negotiation in 2015, and he won the Borden Ladner Gervais Family Law Negotiation Competition in 2014. He believes that out of court settlements often produce the best results for his clients.
Vinayak has had extensive involvement in his school community. During his undergraduate degree, he regularly volunteered his time as Treasurer, and eventually President, of his faculty’s student society. He developed a passion for advocacy when negotiating with various stakeholders for the needs of students during this time.
At law school, Vinayak volunteered with the Ottawa ACORN Housing Justice Project to assist low income clients with landlord-tenant issues. He also assisted in access to justice research, specifically relating to whether paralegal availability was improving representation for low-income clients in Landlord Tenant Board disputes. Vinayak was also a teaching assistant for first year law students in the Alternative Dispute Resolution course, and a Legal Writing Academy mentor.
Vinayak believes in approaching problems pragmatically, and uses this approach to help clients navigate through their family law issues. If you are looking for a consultation with an Ottawa Custody Lawyer, call (613) 233-7000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
